Our Mi-Kis

"A responsible Mi-Ki breeder, is one who always trying to improve the health, type, temperament and intelligence.  We believe that a good combination of all of these qualities makes for an ideal companion dog.  For us, improving the Mi-Ki is much more than producing attractive show dogs; a pretty dog with an unsound temperament or chronic health problems can cause a lot of extra expense and heartache.  A breeder who focuses only on appearance for the show ring is not a responsible breeder."

"A responsible breeder only breeds healthy adult dogs that meet the Official Mi-Ki Standard.   Puppies are just like people and are not always born perfect, even when you breed two healthy dogs.  You can even breed the best to the best and that does not guarantee that every puppy will be born perfect.   It does increase the chances of having healthy, sound puppies."

"A responsible breeder is willing to work with a breeding program.  The International Mi-Ki Registry has the Breeders Alliance (Gold Star Breeders). 

A breeder should always remain willing to listen and learn  all aspects of raising, training and caring for dogs, and share that information freely with others."

"A responsible breeder will take the time to answer any new owners questions, even if it takes time to search for the right answer."

"A responsible breeder  will have a good sales contract that will protect both the buyer's and the breeder's interest in the dog and try to insure the best care for the animal." 

The Mi-Ki is a happy little dog that does well in either a city or country environment and they interact well with Children.  They also make great lap dogs for the Elderly, since the Mi-Ki has a low to moderate activity level.
